Letters to Charlotte: 14 months old!

Dear Charlotte,

Secret's out - you're going to be a big sister! You don't really understand yet - but Crew sure does. He's back to being his clingy, cuddly self with me.

Mommy has NOT been feeling well this month, so it's kind of a blur. Luckily, I don't think it's impacted you much because your bedtime has gotten very reasonable. You're usually worn out by about 7:30 or 8 PM and you crash. And I do mean, crash. Thanks for that drool, by the way.

We got to go to the pumpkin patch this year - it was so much fun! We went with Ashley, Brian and miss Addison. We were rained out the first day we tried to go, so we went the following week. Let me just say, we were not prepared for how extravagant the pumpkin patch was. They were like a mini-amusement park! It was crazy! Next time we go, we'll prepay for tickets and do a little more research into the entertainment options. All of us had just wanted to go to a pumpkin patch and take pictures of the 2 of you among all of the pumpkins! My picture of this is at home, but we need to teach you to accept hugs. Sweet Addison kept giving you hugs and every time you just froze! We'll work on it... you are pretty good at giving kisses, but lately only to your stuffed animals. You've stopped giving kisses to people, so you're pretty stingy with that right now.

Walking has brought on lots of independence for you! You want to feed your self, you love to walk everywhere, and you want to figure things out. You have gotten pretty good at taking things out of something, say a box or a drawer, and then putting them back. You babble and squeal all the time. Crew continues to be your biggest source of amusement - and you like getting him to chase you around. We took you to another football game this month, and you had so much fun. You ran alllllll around and kept running for the street. It was a lot more fun this time around since you were so mobile and social. You went up to everyone and were a big hit!

We didn't go trick or treating this year, as it didn't feel right taking candy for a baby that can't eat it quite yet. You still dressed up though! You had the perfect Disney Princess outfit - complete with a crown!

It's been a fun month just watching you get more comfortable with walking, and now running. You love to take off, and when you take a little spill - you don't seem to be phased. You just hop right back up and keep going! You're one tough little girl - and so far aren't afraid of much at all.

Separation anxiety has kicked into full force this month. You're very attached to both Mommy and Daddy and get very upset if we leave the room, usually following us if you can. Other than that - you're the happiest little girl and have so much fun at everything you do! We love you so much!!
