I Love You

Today was a big day. I have a lot of posts in the works that I haven't had a chance to finish, and one of those is "Things Charlotte Says". But today this deserves it's own post.

Dear Charlotte,

Today you climbed into my lap at my vanity to get your hair done, much like you do every day. This past weekend I'd painted your fingernails for the first time and you loved it. Today, you reached for that same bottle (a light pink) - and handed it to me. When I asked if you wanted another coat of polish, you said yes.

So, I picked you up and turned you around so you were sitting on the vanity facing me - and painted your nails. I did a pretty thin coat so it would dry fast, you don't have much patience and can't really sit still. But you were as still as a statue when I was painting your nails. When we finished - you had the biggest smile on your face!

And then you looked up at me with that big grin, and said..

I love you!

Without being prompted. Without me telling you "I love you" first. Completely spontaneous.

And then you threw your arms around my neck to give me a big hug and said I love you again!

My cup runneth over sweet girl.

Love,
Mommy

Letters to Savannah: 6 months old!

Dear Savannah,

Let it be known that I am SO far behind on this blog, you're actually 8 months old now. I just have so little time to actually write. Don't worry, I have plenty of pictures to remind me what was going on at the time! :)

Health:
The stats....
Weight: 16 lbs, 6 oz (56th percentile)
Height: ~27.25 (93rd percentile)
Head Size: 16.34 (29th percentile) - up from 15.75 at your 4 mo. visit
Diaper Size: Size 3
Clothing Size: 9 months, and some 12 month

You went in for your 6 month check up and did great!

Foods:
We added a few new foods for you this month and the only thing you really didn't care much for was Peas. You tried Avocado, Carrots, and Butternut Squash. By far, your favorite was Carrots. Sweet Potatoes came in a close 2nd, but you NEVER turned down carrots.

This month I struggled to keep up with you on breastmilk. I had to start taking some Fenugreek to keep up with you! We also cut back on how much we were sending to school. Instead of sending 5 oz per bottle for you, we cut it down to 4 and increased your solids. You responded so well to that, and even dropped to 3 bottles instead of 4!

Activity:
You're rolling a lot more now - and will do it for us! It's kind of funny because you tend to roll around in circles, so you don't really get anywhere. However, you have some pretty great concentration when it comes to watching your big sister, so I think you'll hit fast forward soon so you can keep up with her. You started really enjoying Peek A Boo this month, so that's been fun. :)

You had your first Halloween this year! We dressed you up in a Monsters Inc. theme with C - so you were Mike! It was a big hit. We actually took part in the Halloween festival at your school, which turned out to be a lot of fun. We went early, before it got too crowded, so you and C were able to do everything pretty quickly. Your teachers had a great sensory activity set up where they dyed pasta various colors and placed little toys inside the pasta. You had a lot of fun with that pasta, and C had a lot of fun finding all the toys! :)

Milestones:
Rolling over for Mommy and Daddy!
You started grabbing things this month and playing peek a boo!

Uh, Mom? Why is she in my crib?

Peekaboo is so much fun!

Let's try something new... Avocado

Thinking about it...

Still debating whether I like it...

Yummy! Give me more!

Little snuggle buddy

Never alone on the floor!

Oh, hey there Crew!

An example of that rolling in a circle thing..

Look at you twisting all around!

Daddy had been at the football game the day before, so everyone was a liiiiiitle clingy!

That's one happy baby!

Sister love

I was so determined to catch you rolling!

Love your chubby cheeks!!

You're just so sweet.

Ha mom - jokes on you, I stole your pillow!

Gosh, they put me in this weird purple and gold stuff so I'm going to take a nap so no one sees me

Again with the pictures? Gosh, I just woke up!

Ready for her close up

Those eyes!

Fun times in the stroller with Granny

Not quite as excited about having her sister join her.

It's a rough life kid.

Uh, Mom? Little help here? I get that tummy time is supposed to help me get stronger, but I don't need any extra weight, I have enough!

Sully & Mike!

At the school festival with your awesome teacher!

Cutest little skeleton!

Yeah, I know it says Charlotte, you don't have a chair yet.

You're both sleeping at the same time, it's a miracle!

Wrestling with sister, you can totally take her!

Happy Halloween!

Ya'll are just precious.

Mom, again, a little help please? She's squishing me!

Finally! You got rid of her!

Dang, she's back.
