Letters to Savannah: 2 months old!

Dear Savannah -

We had a big month in June! You continued to be a great baby, so peaceful and happy-go-lucky. You still nurse about every 1.5 hrs - 2 hrs. However, you started to sleep for longer stretches of time. On June 18th you slept through the night for the first time - 6.5 hrs! It was so nice!! You were still in our room, but that's mostly convenience and because your crib hadn't arrived yet. We got your crib and dresser in at the end of the month - so we started fixing your room up then!

You and Mommy were a LOT more active this month. We went on errands mostly every day. We made trips to Mommy's doctor, Daddy's work, Mommy's work, and even to Baton Rouge! Your first road trip was at 6 weeks old. We loaded up both of you girls and headed to Baton Rouge for your Daddy's Paran's wedding. It was an adults only wedding, so Mommy just hung out at the house with you and sister. We had a great time though! On our way out of town you got to stop by and see Mike the Tiger. I believe you stayed asleep, but big sister loved it. You definitely did NOT like being in the car for that long, and apparently neither did big sister. That made for a long drive! You are one of those babies that cries when you stop moving. You either want to be held, bounced, or driven at all times. If we stop at a stoplight, you cry until we start to move again! You started smiling this month, and enjoy time on the activity mat - both on your tummy and back.

You refuse to take a pacifier. I haven't forced it on you, but we've offered it several times and if I'm around, you seem offended that it's being offered! You took your very first bottle this month, Daddy fed it to you. He was excited to finally be able to feed you! You did great - only spit up a little bit. I had been trying to pump once or twice a day to start building up a supply of milk for when you go to day care. We figured you'd be going soon so we needed to make sure you wouldn't reject a bottle! As long as you were getting fed, you didn't seem to mind. However, given a choice you totally prefer nursing. It seems to really soothe you.

You made your first trip to Top Golf on your 2nd month birthday! You did great, and got held by Mat, Natasha, Matt and Renee. You seemed content as long as someone was holding you - and even slept in the car seat for a little while! We also went to the Aquarium on the 4th of July. We had a good time, didn't stay but for a few hours so it was timed well around your nursing schedule.

Health:
That breastmilk jaundice is still around.. but getting better! Also still have problems with the clogged tear duct. Overall though, you're a very healthy, happy girl!

Oh, hello there!

Phew. That workout was rough!

Solid grip on mommy!

I guess this is her way of making sure I don't move her?

Thinking we should start tracking your growth by how you fit into the seat!

Hello blue eyes!

Obviously.

Chillin' by the pool!

Nothing better than a baby sleeping on you.

Daddy wanted some snuggles too!

Testing out the toys in the playroom.

Her again?

Not quite sure what to think about having sister home all day and having to share Mommy.

Look at those thighs! Those cheeks! You are officially my chubby bunny!

Your belly is getting so big you can't even wrap your arms around it!

We weren't quite sure what to think about that bumbo seat.

Sleeeeeeepy Savannah
