Letters to Savannah: 5 months old!!

Dear Savannah,

You have GOT to stop growing so fast! You seem to be in a big hurry to catch up to your sister. This month you started wearing mostly 6-9 month and 9 month clothes. We had a pretty busy month!

Health:
The stats....
Weight: 16 lbs (67th percentile)
Height: ~26.5 (93rd percentile)
Diaper Size: Size 3! You started wearing the same diapers as Charlotte!
Clothing Size: 6-9 months, 9 months, and some 12 month

You got to meet our new Pediatrician this month when we took Charlotte for her 2 year check up. I think we'll like her a lot! You've had a few colds, but nothing concerning. It's just given you runny noses and coughs, but doesn't seem to slow you down at all!

Foods:
We were so excited to get you started on solid foods this month! We definitely took our time and didn't start you quite as early as we did Charlotte. You started towards the end of September on rice cereal - and LOVED it. It was as if we'd been feeding you solids all along - you had zero problems adjusting to it. I realized pretty quickly that we better start you on some real foods!

To keep with tradition, I wanted to give you sweet potatoes first, because that's what we gave Sister and she loved it. However, I discovered a new baby item called the Infantino Squeeze Station - so I thought I'd give making your food a try. It's actually pretty easy - and has definitely saved us money. I think it's actually more convenient too - it's easier to try new things and I don't have to worry about making sure we've bought enough food. I make it in bulk, so I make at least 12 pouches at a time. Your food has totally taken over our top drawer in the freezer - but I'm not complaining! You loved the sweet potatoes.. so we'll have to start trying some new foods soon!

Starting you on solids was also strategic. You drank SO much milk this month - like 100 more ounces than the month before. I became a little worried that you'd catch up to me and we'd run out and not have anything to send to school for you! Luckily that hasn't happened yet, but man you're making me work hard to keep up!

Activity:
Busy, busy month. You went to your first football game! It was pretty hot, so we only hung out at the tailgate for a little while - then we moved over to the Rec Center and played upstairs. You liked that, and your sister LOVED that. Her and her friend A were running back and forth and having a blast. It also happened to be Charlotte's 2nd birthday that day! Good times had by all.

The next day was Charlotte's 2nd birthday party. It was a lot of fun, but man it wore you out! So much activity and so many people - you didn't want to miss any of the action.

You are already big enough to sit in the bath seat - so this month we started bathing you both at the same time. You're both big fans and have a great time in the bath. I believe your favorite part is getting lotion on afterwards - it totally calms you down!

Milestone:
Other than starting solids, you started sitting up by yourself this month!! Big girl. SLOW down please!!

You're still the happiest baby ever - so keep it up. :)

See, I told you - you devoured it!

Gah - those cheeks!!

Sissy likes to rub your head and tell you she's sorry after she does something to you on accident. It's adorable.

What? Haven't you ever seen someone sit up before?

Mmmm - Sweet Potatoes!

You're pretty close to the same size. It's a little ridiculous!
