Letters to Charlotte: 10 months old!

Dear Charlotte,

You hit the 10 month mark! You're growing so fast. This month your main focus has been trying everything Mommy and Daddy have or are doing. Mostly that applies to food. You never stop eating! I have no idea how you aren't tipping the scales when it comes to weight. You are sticking to that bottom growth curve. Even your teachers at school commented on your appetite. One of them told your Daddy that you were a fat girl in a skinny body. Apparently the only time you fuss at school is when you're hungry or when they're feeding the bigger kids at a table. You try to climb onto the table and eat what they're having! Silly girl. As a result, we're trying to be creative with what foods to give you. So far no allergies so we're trying all sorts of things. You still love your bananas, frozen or not. We started giving you baby carrots and they have been a big hit! You gnaw on them for a whole then when you get bored you reach for Crew and feed the rest to him!

You and Crew continue to be best friends. Not only do you give him food all the time, but you follow him around too! If he's looking out the window, you stand up next to him to look out too. When we're holding you and he lays next to us, you always reach for him. It's so cute, and he loves you so much. He even lets you play with his toys - at least until we catch you.

This month you officially started talking! You said Dada on Father's Day - and Mama about a week later. You say them all the time now, most recently every time you cry, you cry for Mama. We've also taught you to give kisses and clap! You give big open mouth kisses, usually wet ones too because you don't stop drooling. Clapping took a little longer, but now you do it all the time. 

You keep learning so many things, it's hard to keep track. Your mind works so fast, you're onto the next thing before you've finished what you're currently doing. Everything fascinates you and you are so afraid you're going to miss something you rarely want to go to sleep. 

Teething has been tough on you this month. You got your 7th tooth on the bottom - but I have a feeling the molars are working their way out. The teeth that you already have are really sharp. You've been biting us quite a bit. I'm hoping that stops with us and that you don't bite anyone at school!!

You never stop moving, but so far haven't realized how to walk without holding on to something. I'm sure it will be soon and you'll do it without even realizing what you did. You climb stairs like you're in a race! We had to get those gates installed fast! You also love swimming - so we try to do that often. We wait until the sun goes down so we don't have to lather you in sunscreen!

I think you weigh between 16-17 lbs now, and you've officially moved up to the size 3 diapers! You're mainly wearing 12 month clothes. You're awake now so I have to go. We love you so much!!
